Nes Satellite $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The NES Satellite is a Nintendo Entertainment System accessory created by Nintendo, and was released in 1989. The Satellite allowed up to four players to play the NES anywhere in the room without the necessity of wires running from the NES all the way to the players. A small infrared receiver plugged into the two controller ports on the front of the NES. The main Satellite unit, powered by 6 Ccell batteries, must have a line of sight to the receiver. The unit had four controller ports which could accommodate any type of wired NES controllers. The unit included Turbo selectors for both the A and B buttons. Like many later controllers (such as the PlayStations and N64s), it has wings : handles that extend from the edges of the pad. Unlike the standard NES controller, the Max has a small buttonshaped item called a cycloid, that can be moved in directions for movement. It functions similar to a joystick, however, it lacks analog response. The cycloid can be moved by the players thumb. If the player opts for more traditional control, the cycloid area is surrounded by an 8way control pad ring. The controller is smaller in width than a regular controller and is slightly thinner.
